SANAA, 13 Dec -- Head of the U.S. Central Command, Gen David Petraeus Sunday said “the United States is supporting Yemen in the context of military cooperation Washington is providing its allies in the region,” adding “U.S. ships are present in Yemeni territorial waters not just for monitoring but to impede supplying the Houthis with arms.”  Petraeus who was speaking to the Saudi-owned al-Arabyia TV said “we are providing different security assistance to Yemen just like we do with many countries in the region in addition to training and military education programs we provide the Yemenis.”
