SANAA, 13 Dec -- Speaking at a conference held in Sanaa to discuss Yemen’s challenges, Secretary General of Yemen Socialist Party (YSP) Dr. Yassin Saed Noman Sunday said “the government doesn’t care about what is happening to the oil and gas reserves, doesn’t pay attention to the pathetic state of electricity or soaring prices that have crushed the population,” adding “government jobs are sold, unemployment is rampant, and people are weeping from the deteriorating health, education and security situations and the government is busy crushing the conspirators.” Head of the ruling party bloc in the Parliament, Sultan al-Barakani said the government is facing many challenges and is working to resolve them. He later accused Noman of “babbling about what he doesn’t know,” and Noman replied by calling him “a stupid man with a good heart.” Later the opposition leaders walked out of the conference in protest.
